He knew he's drifted in and out of consciousness a couple of times since then, but between the pain and the awful realization that he couldn't feel his legs, he'd begun to lose track of time somewhere along the line. He had no idea how long he'd been lying there. How long it's been since Zoom nearly killed him in front of the people he cared about.
It could have been hours. It could have been minutes.
He'd ask his friends, but he suspected they were all in the cortex, worrying about him where he couldn't hear them. Not that he could blame them. He was worried too. He couldn't beat Zoom like this. He couldn't help anyone like this. For now, he was stuck on the slow track just like everyone else.
The sound of footsteps pulled him away from these thoughts. Clark. Of course he'd have heard about what happened by now. The whole world probably knew. But the whole world wouldn't worry like Clark would.
"Hey, Clark."
